Luis Gronemann highlight reel — versatile central midfielder in 6, 8 and 10 positions

05/10/2026: New Highlight Reel: Built for the 6, the 8, and the 10

Two-footed central midfielder profile — produced by Beyond College.

My new highlight reel is online — produced by Beyond College and built around the full responsibilities of a modern central midfielder.

For me, the reel had to do more than show goals. It had to show what a coach actually needs from a 6, an 8, or a 10 — on either foot.

The clip covers the full central midfielder package:

  • Goals from central areas
  • Two-footed through balls and line-breaking passes
  • Ball-winning tackles and defensive transition
  • First touch under pressure
  • Decision-making in tight spaces

I see myself as a box-to-box midfielder who can hold the screen as a 6, drive the game as an 8, or play between the lines as a 10. The reel reflects that profile in one continuous piece.

The footage was produced by Beyond College, who edited the clips into a recruiter-friendly format I can share directly with college coaches and scouts.

The reel shows what I do. The work behind it doesn't show — but it's the reason the clips exist.

03/03/2026: Playing Up vs Our Men's Team — Oberliga (Germany's Top Amateur League) | Luis Gronemann CM 2028

Playing against grown men at 16 — some of whom have played in the Regionalliga — is the kind of challenge that pushes me forward.

Training match from 03/03/2026 against our own men's team, who play in the Oberliga — Germany's highest amateur league (5th tier of the German men's football pyramid). Some of these players even have Regionalliga experience (4th tier).

As a 2009-born player, this meant: little possession, a lot of work against the ball, and a game where nearly every action came against physically and tactically experienced adults.

Watch 6:32 — my shot with the left foot, even though I'm a naturally right-footed player. Two-footedness built through daily work, and it holds up even against seasoned men.

What this match showed:

  • Work against the ball — running lanes, duels, and defensive work across the full game
  • Tactical discipline against experienced players who punish every mistake
  • Pressure resistance — staying calm on the ball even when space is tight and the opponent reads the game faster
  • A goal-scoring chance of my own, finished with my left as a natural right-footer (6:32) — proof I can be dangerous going forward, even against grown men

Being trusted by the coach to feature in this match against the men's team means a lot to me. Experiences like this — against grown, experienced players — are exactly what develop me as a box-to-box midfielder.

Full match available on request. Coaches & scouts welcome to reach out.

Luis Gronemann Baden U19 Futsal Champion — title win with 1. CfR Pforzheim

02/21/2026: Best of the ten bests in Baden  "Badischer Futsal Champion 🏆 — U19"

Proud to be part of the 1. CfR Pforzheim U19 team winning the Badischer Futsal Championship — finishing as the best team among the top ten in the Baden region.

I contributed with two goals during the tournament, including one in the semifinal, helping the team secure the title. At 16 years old, I was the youngest player in the tournament, competing against older and more physical opponents.

Futsal demands fast decision-making, elite first touch, tight combinations, and constant movement in small spaces — qualities that directly translate to the outdoor game.

We finished the tournament UNDEFEATED CHAMPIONS 🏆 and qualified for the South German Championships on March 7th. Facing the top regional teams will be the next test of my technical agility and vision under pressure.

Luis Gronemann tactical adaptability as defensive midfielder vs SV Viktoria Herxheim U19

01/25/2026: Tactical Adaptability in Defensive Midfield vs. SV Viktoria Herxheim U19

The right environment changes everything.

In our recent friendly against SV Viktoria Herxheim U19 — a side competing in the Regionalliga (the second-highest youth division in Germany) — I was tasked with a new tactical challenge. Our coaching staff transitioned the team into a 1-4-1-4-1 system, placing me as the lone holding midfielder (#6).

Playing as a single pivot against a high-pressing, physically robust U19 opponent required a high level of concentration and tactical discipline. The match served as a perfect environment to test my development in a high-intensity setting.

Key Performance Areas:

  • Tactical Discipline & Positioning: Responsibility for managing the space between the defensive line and the midfield, ensuring structural integrity during all phases of play.
  • Defensive Transition: Identifying triggers to press or drop, and directing the team's shape immediately after ball loss.
  • Ball Winning & Physicality: Engaging in high-intensity duels and utilizing tackling to disrupt the opponent's build-up.
  • Pressure Resistance: Maintaining composure as the primary outlet for the center-backs, finding line-breaking passes under direct pressure.

"I’m not looking for the biggest program — I’m looking for the right environment to develop. This match was a significant step in refining my Soccer IQ and understanding of the lone #6 role."

Match Details:

  • Opponent: SV Viktoria Herxheim U19 (Regionalliga,  the second-highest youth division in Germany)
  • System: 1-4-1-4-1
  • Role: Defensive Midfielder (Lone #6)
  • Focus: Transition play & Tactical scanning

Luis Gronemann tactical maturity in senior friendly — U19 central midfielder, 1. CfR Pforzheim

01/24/2026:  Tactical Maturity vs. Senior Physicality

Match: U19 vs. Phönix Lomersheim (Senior Squad / 7th Division)

Focus: Speed of Play & Physical Resilience

Testing tactical speed and physical resilience is a core pillar of my current development phase. Competing with the U19s against the senior squad of Phönix Lomersheim demanded elite mental speed and the ability to embrace high-intensity physical duels against experienced adult players.

Key Performance Areas from the Match:

  • Decision Making under Pressure: Minimal time on the ball required constant pre-orientation (scanning) and one-touch solutions to bypass a senior press.
  • Physicality & Work Rate: Holding the center of the pitch against senior opponents while maintaining high intensity throughout the full match duration.
  • Tactical Discipline: Focus on closing gaps and disciplined shifting as a unit to regain possession in the middle third.
  • Tempo Variation: Recognizing the right moments to accelerate the play versus providing ball security to allow the team to transition effectively.

"As a 2009-born midfielder, these senior-level minutes are a crucial part of my preparation for the transition to the high-intensity environment of US College Soccer." — Luis Gronemann

Luis Gronemann U19 vs first-team seniors — Oberliga friendly, 1. CfR Pforzheim

01/17/2026: High-Intensity Match: U19 vs. 1st Team Seniors (Oberliga)

Performance & Tactical Maturity against highest amateur league opposition. Competing against our club’s 1st Team (Oberliga BW - 5th Division) provided an elite tactical challenge. As a 2009-born CM, these matches are essential for developing the physical robustness and rapid decision-making required for the next level in US College Soccer.

The game was characterized by an extremely high tempo and physical intensity, forcing us to adapt quickly to a professional-style press.

Key Performance Highlights:
Verticality & Transition: Winning possession in the center and immediately seeking the vertical outlet. Showcasing long-range accuracy to stretch the defense.

Physicality & Ball Winning: Holding the middle third against physically superior senior players through aggressive tackling and anticipation.

Luis Gronemann first senior match at age 15 — U19 1. CfR Pforzheim vs men's team

08/30/2025: First game against men´s 7th Division team at 15 years old - with U19 1. CfR Pforzheim 1896

At 15 years old, I had the chance to make my first appearance with the U19 team in a match against a men’s squad from the 7th highest league in German football.

It was a unique experience to step on the field at this level so early, competing against older and more physical players. I am very thankful for the opportunity, for the great welcome from the team, and for the trust of my coach.

The match allowed me to learn a lot about myself as a player — positioning, speed of play, and decision-making under pressure. Receiving very positive feedback from the coach motivates me to keep working hard every single day.

This game is another important step in my journey from Germany to college soccer in the USA. I will continue to focus on improving my first touch, acceleration, and tactical understanding to prepare for the next challenges.

Luis Gronemann season 2024/25 review — central midfielder progress, 1. CfR Pforzheim

05/26/2025:  Season 2024/2025 – What a Journey, What a Triumph!

As the dust settles on the 2024/2025 season, I'm reflecting on what has truly been an incredible journey. Every single training session, whether it was battling through fitness drills, perfecting our tactical approach, or refining individual skills, pushed me to grow. There were moments of sheer exhaustion, but also immense satisfaction as we saw our hard work pay off.

The matches themselves were a rollercoaster of emotions. From nail-biting close calls to dominant performances, each game was a testament to our team's passion, resilience, and unwavering commitment. We faced tough opponents and challenging situations, but our collective spirit never faltered. It's truly been an honor to be part of a group that fought for every ball, celebrated every goal, and supported each other through thick and thin.

And to top it all off, we finished as Champions! This title isn't just a trophy; it's a culmination of countless hours of dedication, sacrifice, and the belief we had in ourselves and each other. Being able to contribute to such an amazing team achievement makes all the effort worthwhile.

I want to extend my deepest gratitude to everyone who supported us along the way – coaches, teammates, family, and friends. Your encouragement, guidance, and belief in us were invaluable.

This season has not only been a significant step in my athletic development but also a powerful lesson in teamwork, perseverance, and the joy of achieving a shared goal.

I'm excited about what the future holds and eager to continue pushing my limits. The dream of college soccer is very much alive, and I'm dedicated to putting in the work to make it a reality.

Let's keep pushing, both on and off the pitch!
